Default My Formula Changes on it's own?

I am using xp Home edition, and excel 2002. I have a spread sheet for my
accounting that while I put data in the cells the formula will change in
selected cells. I have across the top marked into 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th weeks.
In the cells going down I have different accounts the income is given credit
for. In this formula it is set up =sum(A1:E1)-F1+H1. The E1 inside the( )
will change when I put the amount spent from the account. I am not using a -
sign with the spent figure, being it is in the formula. the formula will
change the E1 to F1 when I click enter or the up or down arrows.
CAN ANYONE HELP?

Just a wild guess ..
Perhaps you were "accidentally" caught in edit mode?
If so, try press Esc to revert to normal

Thanks Max, but this did not fix the problem. I have 11 accounts in the same
block and all of them work ok except this one. It is in the 5th cell down,
some accounts above and some below.

Is there any one else that has an idea? So far no one with the correct answer.

Earl, sorry, it's just me again, the "wild guesser" <g

Perhaps, to enhance the chances of receiving other responses in this
instance, think you could try uploading a small, "sanitized" sample of your
file via a free filehost, and then include the generated *link* to it in
your response here for those interested to take a look at your file. This
would also help to keep ensuing discussions, if any, open to all within the
newsgroup, for the benefit of all.

Some free filehosts that could be used:
http://www.flypicture.com/
http://cjoint.com/index.php
http://www.savefile.com/index.php

For cjoint.com (it's in French), just click "Browse" button, navigate to
folder select the file Open, then click the button centred in the page
below (labelled "Creer le lien Cjoint") and it'll generate the link. Then
copy & paste the generated link as part and parcel of your query.

Kindly note that no attachments should be posted *directly* to the
newsgroups

Good luck !
