Default Cell Format - $ and Text

Greetings.

I have very small cells in a sheet that I use for printing. One
technique that I use us to put data into a cell which sits to the left
of a line and turn on the right justify in the properties menu. This
then pushes the test to the right and over any empty cells to the
right.

This was working until I tried to do the same thing with currency.
The column width is .69 and as this size the only way I can view
anything is with this spill over. If I type in text the spill over
works. If I increase the width the currency is there and forced right
as it is supposed to be. Yet when I return the column to it's .69
size, it disappears.

Does anyone have any idea as to what is causing this and how to fix
it, sort of changing column widths (not an option in this case)?

Any help would be most appreciated.

TIA
