Default editing spreadsheet

when I receive spreadsheet via e-mail, I can open but not edit thanks to
excel viewer. I need to edit these sheets, I have windows xp - what can I do

You'll need to either buy Excel or download and install StarOffice - a
freeware package that reads and writes MS Office files.
