Default Excel IRR calculation

Does the IRR formula require or allow the calculationa to be to an
exponential power for the number of periods?

Can the IRR calulation ever be used for irregular number of cash inflows?

If your cash flows are irregular, use XIRR rather than IRR.

Can't help you with the exponential power question as I don't understand it.
