backing sales tax out of a total including sales tax
I have only Totals including sales tax. I am needing to back out the sales
tax to figure what the sub totals were before applying the 7.75% sales tax. I can't figure a formula for this task can anyone help me? |

Totals in A1
=A1/1.0775 or more generic if there are other sales tax rates involved, with the sales tax percentage in B1 =A1/(1+$B$1) -- Regards, Peo Sjoblom (No private emails please) "trent" wrote in message ... thank you, that was so stupidly easy. I guess sometimes you need to take a
