Default cells will not accept decimals.will not allow any retype with deci

in excel only the cell size will not accept the decimal point. you can incert
the decimal but it will revert to no decimal. Also the decimal/del key on the
key pad
prints a zero rather than a decimal. Only when you open the cell will the
decimal
/del key print a decimal, close the cell it will print a zero again.

Hi detmar

Your cells are most likely formatted as numbers, no decimal figures. Select
the cell, right click, click on format cells, and change the number format to
numbers, 2 decimal points, and you will see your decimal fractions
