Default Easy formula question

I know this is very simple but for some reason i am drawing a blank...

I am trying to use a formula to make copy info from one cell to another
automatically, so i don't have to ocontinually type info that appears twice
in the sheet. when i create the formula =V6 all that shows up is =V6 instead
of the data from the cell v6. Please help

The problem is, the cell you are typing the =V6 in has somehow gotten
formated as TEXT. You need to get it returned to General format. Click on
the cell, then up in the formula bar where the =V6 appears, delete the equal
sign, then press enter.........then do it again and put the equal sign back
in......it should change to a real formula and display the results from
V6..........

The cell is formatted as text? "=v6" shows at the left of the cell?
Make sure the cell is formatted as general before entering or changing the
contents.
