Default HOW DO I SUMMARIZE A LIST OF TEXT, I WANT ONE A TO SHOW UP NOT 10

If I have a list of lettters. "A","B", "C", "A", "C". I WANT ONE "A", one
"B", and "C" TO SHOW Up in a summarized list. Got any idea how to do this
