Default mix text and formula?

I was wondering if there is a way to mix text and a formula in a cell. I'd
like to embed today's date (using the function =TODAY()) in the middle of a
sentence. Thanks.

Try this:

="Today's date is "&TEXT(TODAY(),"mmm/dd/yy")&" , and you're Late!"

Try something like:
="Date is: "&TEXT(TODAY(),"dd mmm yyyy")

Try also Debra's coverage on combining data at her:

See especially the formatting examples towards the bottom of the page
