I have a workbook and I would like to do the following: sheet 1 named €œEnd
Bal€� has 8 columns. In 2 of the columns; cells B5:B22 and H5:H21 contain one
of the following; S, C/O, or BLOCK (text only). These designations are random
and change from day-to-day. I would like to link these cells to another
worksheet named €œHsk Assign€�; with the cells C10:C27 and I10:I26. How is this
done? I am using Excel 2007.

Lets call the first one of the cells in "Hsk Assign" the destination
cell and the corresponding cell in the "End Bal" sheet the source cell. Go
to the destination cell. Type an equal sign. DO NOT HIT ENTER. Go to the
source cell and click on it. Hit ENTER now. That's it. Now in the
destination sheet, drag that formula down by the fill handle as far as

I am not sure I understood you correctly. In Hsk Assign!C10 and Hsk
Assign!I10 apply the below formulas respectively and copy down

Im sorry that I my example was unclear (it definitely was.) What I want to
do is the following: as I type the text into the End Bal sheet I want it to
be entered into the Hsk Assign sheet. I tried using the =End Bal!B5 formula
but it returns a €œ0€� into the H5 cell of the Hsk Assign sheet until I type
either S, C/O, or BLOCK into C 5 of the End Bal sheet. This would be ok, but
if I have a blank cell such as B7, Im still stuck with a zero in H7 of the
Hsk Assign sheet. How do I get around this.

Oops, I confused myself the cells are C5:C22, H5:H21 for End Bal and the
same cells in Hsk Assign (C5:C22, H5:H21).

Otto, Hi,
I followed the steps you gave me exactly. I went to the destination cell in
"Hsk Assign" and typed the equal sign, without hitting enter I switched to
the source cell in the "End Bal" sheet and clicked on it, then I hit enter.
When I went back to the destination cell in "Hsk Assign" I found the
following; ='End Bal'!B5. I'm falling deeper into the rabbit hole here. Now I
can't even type in the formula the way I tried before. I made sure that the
sheets were unprotected before I tried these manuevers so I'm just lost.
PLease help!!

I'm not sure that I understand the problem you have with the advice I
gave you. If you use the formula:
='End Bal'!B5
and you don't want it to display a 0 if B5 of End Bal is blank, modify the
formula to:
=If('End Bal'!B5="","",'End Bal'!B5 )
This simply says if B5 is blank, display a blank, if it is not blank display
