Default Great discovery?

I often use a vertical merged cell on the left hand side of a table range for
presentation effect. After merging, any data in cells other than .cells(1) is
lost. This can be worked around easy enough but I sometimes would find it
more convenient to have all cells contain data. I found by accident that this
can be achieved by pasting data into the merged cells using
PasteSpecial/Formulas. Only the the first value will be displayed of course
but the other cells now contain data or formulas that can be referred to.
Hope this is of some use to some of you
