Default Formula mismatch in Excel 2003 & 2007

A formula written (combination of datedif & vlookup) in Excel 2003 does not
show the same value when opened in Excel 2007.
This is a salary calculation where based on Date of Joining.
Yearly increment is due as per date of Joining
Suppose the Date of Joining is 10th of Dec
The intent is to pay 9 days on the previous increment & 23 days on the new
increment.
Excel 2003 shows the correct outcome.
