Default Multiple selections of rows & columns by clicking in one cell

Don't know what is going on with my point & click but it selects multiple
rows & columns vs just one cell. Now I can't enter data, because it may
select anywhere from 4 to 10 rows/columns, don't know why it started doing
this....now I was entering data and held the SHIFT key down, and the
accessibility feature popped up and I (thought) I clicked "cancel" . I went
back and checked the settings, they are the same, don't know what to do and
of course I have a huge report due ....
