Default Is it possible to sort data within a password protected worksheet

Hi,
I`m using excell 2003??
I can sort data using a macro which unlocks the protection then reasigns it
back afterwards. But is there a way to do this whilst under a password
protected sheet. Have tried having a macro that first types in the password
to unlock, sorts the data then retypes the password .... BUT, running the
macro when the sheet is locked requests the password to be entered straight
away and so defeats the object in the password being there at all.
Any ideas?
Thanks .
