Default Closing off threads

Hi,

I've just noticed that I have an 'open' thread which doesn't need any
further input from the Community.

It would be great if there was a way to 'close' threads without having to
rate any feedback as helpful. (The replies I got to my post did not answer
the question I'd posed, but I'd found a solution myself some time later.)

Reading through the posts it's clear I'm not looking for any feedback, but
it still shows up in the "Questions without Answers" category.

Thanks.

Lisa,

You can 'answer' your own question, if you find a solution elsewhere. That helps others in the
future....

Thanks Bernie.

I didn't mean to give the impression that I didn't appreciate the feedback I
got, it's just that they didn't offer the solution I was looking for. The
solution I eventually came up with was specific to the spreadsheet I was
using rather than something that other Excel users would find useful.

So that particular thread is still open, and I'm reluctant to label any of
the responses as helpful because less experienced users might wonder why the
proposed functions are not doing what I asked in my original post.

But your suggestion of answering my own questions if I find solutions is a
great idea.

Thank you.

Hi Bernie,

I did as you suggested and replied to my own post with my solution to the
problem.

I clicked to mark the post as Helpful, but the thread is still showing up in
the "Questions without Answers" cateogry.

So, I can't vote for my own post. Makes sense, I suppose. :D
