Default How to enter a formula in a cell?

Hi there,

I am trying to create a table in Excel with the following format, where "C",
"Roots", "Area of a Triangle" are in one column and the equations are in
another column. In "Word" it is easy to enter a formula by "Insert-
Equation". How does one do it in excel?

C = ˆš(a^2+b^2 )
Roots = x=(-b±ˆš(b^2-4ac))/2a)
Area of a triangle = 1/2*b*h

You can either do it by inserting symbols as appropriate, or Insert - Object
- Microsoft Equation x.0
(x being a version number)

Hi Luke M,

THis puts the equation as an object and is not part of a cell.
Is there a way to enter an equation in a cell?
