This formula uses nested IF functions to check if the value in cell E17 is below the range (less than C17), above the range (greater than D17), or within the range (between C17 and D17). If the value in E17 is less than C17, the formula will return "Below Range". If the value in E17 is greater than D17, the formula will return "Above Range". If the value in E17 is between C17 and D17, the formula will return "In Range". You can adjust the cell references in the formula to match your specific data range.

You could do this:
=IF(E17<C17,"Below range",IF(E17D17,"Above range","In range")) Assumes that C17 is less than D17. Hope this helps. You should consider using Copy/Paste to put posted formulas and/or code into
Excel instead of relying on typing what you (think you) read from the screen. -- Rick (MVP - Excel) "Max" wrote in message ... Here's another similar formula:
=IF(E17<C17,"Below",IF(E17D17,"Above","In"))&" Range" -- If this helps, please click the Yes button. Cheers, Shane Devenshire "Max" wrote: How to use the IF function to get 3 different outcomes.
