Default text as number

i have received a spreadsheet with some numbers which seem to be entered as
text. i am not able to convert them back to numbers with =value(text). can
someone please help.

--Copy a blank cell
--Select the range of numbers (to be converted) in your spreadsheet
--Right clickPasteSpecialSelect Add. and click OK

Hi,

Select the range and then go to Data Text columns. Just click on Finish

did not work. here is copy of one cell:

4,76,258.33
