stop error message "too many different cell formats"
My workbook has 16 tabs in it. The largest tab has 710 rows of data and 30
columns. There are several vlookups going on in the various tabs, but the formulas are all very basic, nothing complex. I do however have multiple cell formatting going on. I will color code, bold and underline a cell (not all cells though). I will do this throughout each tab. I periodically get an error message "too many different cell formats" when I try to format a new cell, or add to the formatting of a cell. If I save, close and re-open, I can get the program to accept a few more formats before it starts with the error message again. I do not want to break up the workbook, as many different people use it. Is there any way to get around this error message, so I do not have to keep opening and closing the workbook? I am afraid that it will freeze me from formatting anything new very soon. |

stop error message "too many different cell formats"
To stop the error message simplify the formatting.
There is no workaround. A few tips can found here under "resolution" section. http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;213904 Gord Dibben MS Excel MVP On Thu, 7 May 2009 09:03:01 -0700, Judy wrote: My workbook has 16 tabs in it.
