Default Column and Row labels are numeric

Both my column and row labels are numeric. Example: cell A1 is now R1C1.
How can I get the column back to alpha?

Tools|Options|General tab|uncheck R1C1 reference style

Default Column and Row labels are numeric

Tools Options General [ ] R1C1 Reference style

Uncheck that.
