Default Table

Well if you don't know whether you can't find the Window menu, or whether
you do have a Window menu on which you can't see the menu item "Freeze
Panes", there's not much likelihood that we can help you.

That's exactly correct. What I'm trying to tell you is that in Excel 97 I
can't find the Window menu, or that on the Window menu I can't see the
menu
item "Freeze Panes".

Perhaps you missed the part where I said:
" If you wish to freeze the top 2 rows and the left hand two columns,
select
cell C3, then go to the Window menu and select "Freeze Panes".
In general, select the cell below the rows you wish to freeze, and to
the
right of the columns you wish to freeze, then go to the Window menu and
select "Freeze Panes"." ?

Are you trying to tell us that in your Excel 97 you can't find the Window
menu, or that on the Window menu you can't see the menu item "Freeze
Panes"?

You can find a screen grab of the Excel 97 menus at
http://www.ngfl.ac.uk/resources/excel/excelpage3.pdf and at

Where or how do I found this command "freeze pan", or any other command
in
Excel 97?

Could you elaborate more on the process, Thanks

Toast's suggestion is incorrect.

Select B1 to freeze column A

Select B2 to freeze column A and row 1

This is for Excel 97 through 2003

No, I don't have the 03 version.
I know 97 has this option as well, and I used it in the past, but
I
have
forgotten how it was.
