pulling data from one workbook to another based on a condition
Help,
I am trying to pull data from one workbook to another based upon a condition (in this case the State). However, the worksheet is sorted by a job code and not the State itself so VLookup doesn't seem to work. Below is a sample for reference: I would like to copy all cells in a given row that contain data for AR for example. Hi,
You may use advanced filter and specify multiple criteria. You can also specify which range of the worksheet would you want to extract data to. -- Regards, Ashish Mathur Microsoft Excel MVP www.ashishmathur.com "Dave H" wrote in message ... pulling data from one workbook to another based on a condition
acctaully this sound like the perfect scenrio for vlookup
infact if you have a unqiue text or value that can sorted acending you are really in the money. Start by copy and pasting the data into another sheet on the workbook I find vlookup does not to well for file to file transfer of data if you need file to file transfer of data just =a1 or exact template of the data the carred over vlookup is should work great wright back the vlookup formula you are using and I could possible understand the delem better "Dave H" wrote: Help, I am trying to pull data from one workbook to another based upon a condition (in this case the State).
