Hi All,

Q 1) After working in an excel spreadsheet for a while and then out of the
blue when clicked on a particular cell the system will highlight a wide
range of cells and no matter what cell was clicked on the system keeps
highlighting many cells. At this point not able to edit individual cells
anymore and has to close down the program and the computer completely to
restart it.

Changed the mouse, clear temp folder, did reinstall the with Repair problem
remained same.

Q 2) Opening email attacjed Excel 2000 spreadsheet in Excel 2003, all remote
referenced forumlas (from different worksheets) don't show up and throwing
Div/0 error as if they don't exist. In every cell if manually adds the
reference forumula with + the formula works but it is equivalent to
reprogramming.

Any ideas I appreciate.

Thanks
Chinna

Check that you have not got a Shift key sticking on the keyboard.

Problem #1 could be caused by hitting the F8 key which puts you in Extended
mode.

Hit it again to toggle out of that mode.

For problem #2..............are the links just to other sheets within the
same workbook?

You could try this trick.

Select all sheets and CTRL + a(twice in 2003) to select all cells.

EditReplace

What: =

With: =

Replace all.

Do you get an update of values?

Hi Gord, Thanks for your time. Your resolution for Prob#1 helped I was
accidentally pressing F8 key.

The solution for problem#2 did not help . Alternatively if Open Office Calc
is used can see all the referenced values and had save as .xls file and send
it accross.

Should there be any MS Office patch please help me.
