Default If question

Cell S12 - =IF((A12)*(A12<""),VLOOKUP(A12,'Books Borrowed'!$A$5:$G$35,3),"")

Cell A12 contains a value & In cell S12 i get the answer #N/A (I was
expecting this answer, there is nothing wrong)

However, since Cell A12 is not in the table array (From above formula)
'Books Borrowed'!$A$5:$G$35 (This is where i got the #N/A from) i do not want
that text to actually appear(Want the cell to be blank). if that makes sense

How can i modify my formula to allow this to happen

I am not enitrely sure, but i think the vlookup section of the formula may
need the modifying
