Default Compounded formula using SUM & AVERAGE

How do I sum the difference between two date ranges and get a total average
of those days

Hi

not sure what you're after here but one idea
say you have
.............A..................B................. .C
1.......Date............Amount
2......1-Jan-05........500
3......1-Mar-05........20

which means you've sold 480 units over the period 1 Jan to 1 Mar
and you want to know the average number of items you sold per day then the
formula would be
=(B2-B3)/(A3-A2)
formatted as a number

if this isn't what you've after could you maybe type out an example or two
of what you have and what you're looking for (but please don't attach a
workbook)
