cell in a worsheet has data from a cell in a different worksheet - is there a
shortcut that would take me directly to this originating cell from the first cell. Example worksheet 2, cell A1 is copied from worksheet 1 , cell B5. Is there a shortcut that would take me from A1 to B5 ? -- entee |

Hi,
And just a little FYI Ctrl [ select all the immediate Precedent cells on the active sheet. It will go to another sheet or workbook iff there are no other cells on the current sheet that it refers to, it alway choose them over external links. when you are on that other cell you can use Ctrl ] to return. It only works for cells on the same sheet. Ctrl { selects all the referenced cell on the current sheet Ctrl } selects all the cells the depend on this cell on the current sheet The difference between the [ { is that the first only highlights the immediate references, the second highlight all levels. For example if A1 contains the formula =B1 and B1 contains the formula =C1. If you put your cursor on A1 and press Ctrl [ Excel select only B1. If you put your cursor on A1 and press Ctrl { Excel selects both B1 and C1. You can also expose the Auditing toolbar which has buttons that perform similar actions, but graphically. Tools, Formula Auditing, Show Formula Auditing Toolbar -- Thanks, Shane Devenshire "entee" wrote: Thanks - much appreciated -- entee "Ragdyer" wrote: If it's a direct link, try: <Ctrl < [ It will even open a closed WB. -- HTH, RD --------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please keep all correspondence within the NewsGroup, so all may benefit ! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- "entee" wrote in message ... cell in a worsheet has data from a cell in a different worksheet - is there a shortcut that would take me directly to this originating cell from the first cell.
