Default Why won't it Excel fill in weekly dates now, changes them to daily

I'm using Excel 2004 for Mac. I'm trying to fill in a column with
week-ending dates. I put in each date for the first few times, then do a
fill and it only does daily dates. I hold down the control key, and it gives
me a menu that includes daily, weekdays, months, years, but no weeks. I am
fairly certain that Excel used to do this easily, but it isn't doing it now.

One way:
Place the first week-ending date in a cell. Then do Edit - Fill - Series.
Set the increment to 7. HTH Otto
