Default ENCRYPTION in excel?

Any way to encrypt simple ascii text in excel?

I'd like to encrypt a large collection of war&peace length novels in
excel if possible. You cant be too safe with these patriot act days.

thanks everyone for your continued help.

Default ENCRYPTION in excel?

Neither Excel nor VBA has any end user support for encryption. Why
use Excel in the first place? I am sure there are freeware/shareware
programs that can encrypt a file. A couple of quick Google searches
for "encryption freeware" and "blowfish" (a common encryption
protocol) turns up several promising pages.
