Occasionally, when I want to insert a cell address for a cell that is
immediately to the left of the one I am trying to put a formula in, inserting the '=' sign blanks out both the cell I'm working on and the one to the left. Of course, there are workarounds, but is there a way to not have to 'work around' this problem? Maybe I should add, often the cell in question is from another page, which can make its address rather long. Dave |

I'd just format the formula cell to left-justify temporarily, if required

Dave If I'm understanding you correctly, you could also turn off "Edit directly in cell" in the Options. |
