Hi,
If it's a password to open then I'm afraid you have a problem because despite some claims otherwise I've never seen freeware or VB code that is reliable. Right now you probably don't need reminding but in future write down your passwords and don't store then on your PC. I put them on a piece of paper and store the paper in my disctionary next to a page containing the definition for 'Password'. While I'm not immune to hackers and thieves, i doubt they will want to read the dictionary while going about their trade. I use this one with success http://www.lostpassword.com/excel.htm Mike "Ann" wrote: help! i have a workbook that i've password protected and can't get into now. i've tried everything i know and it won't work. this is 2003. any possible way around it? it's got important info in it. tia |

I seem to have random success with these password breaking programs,
maybe 50-50. As Mike said, it's a good idea to keep track of the passwords if you can find a common place to store them. Another option that I use often is to put a clue in the document properties that I will recognize, but would make not make sense to someone else.
