Default How do I freeze a row and column

I would like to keep rows 1 and 2 static at the top and at the same time hold
column A. Column A is used for the description of an item then columns B to Z
contain the data, clearly when I get to column Z I can no longer see the
description for the data I am reading. At the same time there are a lot of
rows and I could do with seeing the upper heading as I am scrolling down the
data.
This may not be a freeze pane issue, so if anyone knows how to achieve this
your help would be much appreciated.

Select one cell to the right, and one cell below, where you want to freeze
the view. This will freeze the view by both the x-axis and the y-axis.
