Default attendance sheet to add time but not.....

Hi Betty,

Replace your SUM(Xn:Xp) by SUMIF(Xn:Xp;"<""M""")

Kind regards,
Erny

Hello
I have an attendance sheet for our office. I have three columns that
work so far but i need a little help with. The first column has a
manual shift code that we enter and the remaining two columns have the
start and the end time of that shift.

Example..
Column 1 Column 2 Column 3
S1 (Shift Code) 08:00 16:30

The Shift code is input and the start and end times are inserted by a
button that we click which has a macro attached.

The above part works fine.

If a staff member calls in sick (S), is on maternity (M) or on holiday
(H) than at the end of this shift code we add the additional letter,
this then replaces the start and end time with this letter like
this...

Column 1 Column 2 Column 3
S1M M M

I cannot sum the number of hours that each person works at the bottom
of the page if one of these letters is in place, i just get #Value.

I need find an If statement to help add the number of hours of each
staff member and exclude the letters above for absence.

Can you help??

Kind Regards

Betty
