All of you have been great for offering your help...however, you won't
believe why I couldn't do this...I was not selecting/highlighting both cells
before painting!!! I was only selecting the cell where the condition was
given!

Something so simple took me ALL day to figure out & had everyone wondering
why it worked for them and not me!

I suspect you are having a problem with deciding what question you want

What you are getting is the first of repeated values shaded the rest being
plain
You have (in your own terms) stated
B1 contains the first data item
If data B2 is not equal to data B1 then colour B2
If data B3 is not equal to data B2 then colour B3
If data B4 is not equal to data B3 then colour B4
If data B5 is not equal to data B4 then colour B5
If data B6 is not equal to data B5 then colour B6
If data B7 is not equal to data B6 then colour B7
If data B8 is not equal to data B7 then colour B8
If data B9 is not equal to data B8 then colour B9
If data B10 is not equal to data B9 then colour B10
If data B11 is not equal to data B10 then colour B11
Note that cell B1 will never have CF as it is not compared with anything.
To achieve this colouring enter the following CF in B2
'Cell Value is" not equal to =$B1
<then pick your shade/colour if true
Cell B2 should remain uncoloured as B1=B2
Highlight Cell B2 <Format Paint Highlight B3 to B12
You will find 3,4,5,7,9,11 have taken the shading which agrees with what was
asked for

Using B$1 locks the row. Change it to B1.

I did a conditional formatting (from cell B2) that
said "Cell Values is"
"Not equal to" "=B$1"...I set it to highlight/shade when
one of the two cells
is not equal to the other.

It works great for the 1st 2 rows...however when I do a
paint formatting
from B2 down to the rest of the row, it formats the
wrong cells & every other
cell highlights...In other words...B3 not equal to B2,
B5 not equal to
B4....and so on!!!

PLEASE...I'm desperate.....can someone help!!!
