Hi,
I have a large spreadsheet which contains a column of descriptions. These have various tabs in them. I need to convert this to a tab delimited txt file but I think the tabs in the description is messing the final copy up. My question is, does anyone know how to remove all the tabs from a range of cells? |

I tried it just now, and tabs-delimited date pastes into individual cells in
Excel, I don't think there is anything else to do. If your scenario is different somehow, try Data Text to Columns Delimited Next, then choose your delimitation criteria. You can check the 'other' box and choose some other criteria to delimit by. Hope that helps. In Word, copy a tab (because it moves to a different cell in Excel, or new
tab stop, etc) and in Excel, run a Find & Replace. Under "Find What" paste the tab, and under "Replace With" leave it blank. If you are not worried about losing any tabs elsewhere in your sheet, click "Replace All." You should then be able to get a tab-delimited file.
