Default Using vlookup on a validation list

I have a validation list in Column A of sheet 1 which lists hockey positions.
I then have a validation list in Column B using the =indirect(A1) formula
which lists all the players from Column A-sheet 2, that play that position
indicated in column A-sheet 1. Now I need Column C on sheet 1 to
automatically insert and update the salary of the player listed in column
B-sheet 1 from the players salary listed in column B-sheet 2. I had it
set-up like a validation, however, if I ever change the player in
column-B-sheet 1, I would then need to update it in column c as well.

Also, is it possible as a conditional format for the players name text color
to turn red when that players name is placed on some one's roster on another
sheet? Basically, I want the text to turn red when the players name is
duplicated in the worksheet. sorry for the confusion.

Thank you,
