Need to know how to assign colors to different cells when a certain set of
initials are typed into a cell. I have 4 crews with 7 individuals and need to
keep track of pm's that are completed. Would like to set up so that a color
comes up for each crew.

Steve --

Use conditional formatting. Select the cell(s), then FormatConditional
Formatting.

Set it so that it checks to see if the cell value is equal to (for example)
S07, and then set the format for text and background color. You can have up
to three conditional formats so, including no special format, you can handle
four possibilities this way.
