Default reserved sheet name

When I try to rename the worksheet, I get the error "reserved name".
Anyone familiar w/this message? How do I release the reserve?

What name are you using? It sounds like you are trying to call it something
Excel reserves for itself, like ..., well I can't think of an example.

Hi Bob
I know how you feel.....took me a couple of minutes too !!

"History" is the usual culprit

Hi Michael,

Thank you. I tried so many names, function names, object names, I even tried
=SUM thinking it will hate that, and got nowhere.

But History does indeed fail.

Regards

Bob

Right! It is "history" that I'm trying to use!
Hmmm - curious. I guess it will remain a mystery unless Mr Gates can
enlighten us.

When a workbook is shared, you can keep track of changes to that
workbook. The changes are recorded on a sheet named "History".

So, Excel won't let you create a sheet named "History", to avoid any
potential conflicts.
