I have to forecast estimated warranty cost on a month by month basis, which
sounds easy enough. The issue I have is the following: Project sold for $3600.00 We acrrue 1.5% for warranty = $54.00 Warranty starts on 4/1/2008 Warranty ends on 4/1/2009 12 months of warranty = $4.5 per month. I need to forecast $4.50 a month for 12 months from April 1, 2008 - April 1, 2009. How do I do this??? I can forecast the amount in a single month, but the month over month is killing me.. |

I guess I don't understand your problem, since all you need to do is figure
out how many months have elapsed since 4/1/2008 and multiply by $4.50. Do you not know how to calculate elapsed months? There are many ways - but one would be to convert each date to (YEAR * 12) + MONTH and then do a subtraction. Sorry if I'm not understanding the problem.
