Default Consolidation Referemnce is not valid

I am trying to consolidate the data in multiple worksheets from the same
workbook. The worksheets are identical with the data being the only
variable. Positioning, formulas and layouts are all the same.

I searched for a way to do this and came up with this
link:http://exceltips.vitalnews.com/Pages...nto_One.ht ml

I attempted to follow the directions posted at this link but the data
consolidation button is greyed out when I select more than one worksheet from
which I want to combine data.

I am able to use the consolidate data button if only one worksheet is
selected. When I choose the workbook from which I want to gatehr the
data...I get a Consoildation Reference is not valid error.

I guess I don't know what the heck I'm doing!

There must be a simple way to do this. Or at the very least...there must be
a tuorial that explains how to do this.

HELP!!!
