Default drap copy without increasing the value

Can someone please let me know if there is a way to copy cell contents with
the cell drag and drop option without it increasing the value, but copy what
was in the contents i.e. "F2" in fields A1 through A12. and not F2 in field
A1 F3 in filed A2.

PLease hlep.

Dragging a field like F2 causes Excel to assume you want F3 in the next cell
and F4 in the following cell. Hold Ctrl while dragging and Excel will not
change the F2 to F3 etc. The same applies to dates. If you have a numeric 1
in a cell and drag it, Excel will not change it unless you press Ctrl while
dragging. Time for a book on elementry Excel, perhaps?

$ signs are your friends

$F$2 is absolute column and row.

$F2 is absolute column and relative row.

F$2 is absolute row and relative column.

Anything preceded by a $ sign will not change when dragged down or across.

See more on this in Help.
