Default Multiple lookup value's

Is it possible to have multiple (or at least 2) lookup values where the
lookup vector would be spread across multiple spreadsheets. Hypothetical
formula: =lookup(D1,D2,'Sheet1:Sheet9'!A2,'Sheet1:Sheet9'!A 4)€¦.or put another
way:
D1=the appropriate worksheet and D2=the vector within that sheet. Pardon the
rookie question but any input would be greatly appreciated.
