Default Importing into excel PROBLEMS

Please help i am importing lots of barcodes into excel they have an R
in front eg.R80255112 and excel automatically converts them to rands
eg.R 802,551,12 which is unsuitable.When i change it to text it cuts
out the R. I am also importing a datestamp which is meant to be
2008-01-08 12:40:49.827PM but it comes out
2008-01-08T12:40:49.827+02:00.Please any suggestions

Default Importing into excel PROBLEMS

Specifically, how are you importing the data........and from what type
source? Some methods allow the formatting to TEXT during the transition.

If possible, you may be able to put a leading Alpha character or two on the
numbers before importing and remove later.........
