If you look in Excel Help for XIRR you will see:
"... If this function is not available, run the Setup program to install the Analysis ToolPak. After you install the Analysis ToolPak, you must enable it by using the Add-Ins command on the Tools menu. ..." And you can click on How? below this message to get full details of how to go about this. Hope this helps.
