Hi Sue
No it makes no difference which operating system or which version of Excel - it works the same. With Excel 2007 however, you don't have to use ToolsProtection to switch on protection for the sheet, you just right click on a sheet tab, and one of the options that appears is Protect Sheet. -- Regards Roger Govier "Sue Parsons" wrote in message ... Sorry still does not work i am using vista will this be a problem and 2007 excel? -- sue "Roger Govier" wrote: Hi Sue By default, all cells have their values set to Locked. When Sheet Protection is then invoked, all cells would be Locked. Before Applying ToolsProtection, select the range of cells you want to leave Unprotected, then choose FormatCellsProtection and clear the tick from Locked. Now apply your Sheet protection. -- Regards Roger Govier "Sue Parsons" wrote in message ...
