Pivot table drilldown
i have a data table in a sheet with thousands of records. there are about 15
different fields. i created a pivot table to summarize about 5 of the fields. when i double click the first field to "expand" it and show detail, i notice that all of the sub fields have all of their detial shown. is there a way to hide detail for every field in the entire table so that i don't have to drill down to the smallest detail for every category, and hide detail for each item. TIA. |

You can do all the items in each field at the same time:
Check that 'Enable Selection' is turned on (on the PivotTable toolbar, choose PivotTableSelect -- 'Enable Selection' should be highlighted) In the column area, point to the top of a field button When the pointer changes to a black arrow, click to select the field On the PivotTable toolbar, click the 'Hide Detail' button Repeat these steps for the remaining fields.
