Default Pivot table grouping of redundant data

Hi there, I am creating a sales analysis pivot report for products sold by
each retailer in a state/province, but some of the same customer names are
repeating more than once in the given state/prov. How can I consolidate the
retailers, so that there name only appears once in the state/prov, with its
entire total qty? You help is appreciated.

If the names are the same, they should group automatically. Perhaps some
have an extra space character or two, at the end of the name, in the
source data.
