when I copy and paste the formula I want into adjacent cells, it does not
retain the particular cell I want to use. I had to input each formula manually. How do I keep using the one cell I need as part of the formula, as the divisor? i.e., sum=(a1)/(f12), keeping a1 as the constant divisor, no matter what other cell I use (b7) for example??? |

Use the "$" signs to fix the cell reference
Eg if you have it in G12 as: =A1/$F$12, then when you copy G12 and paste it elsewhere, the divisor (cell F12) will not change -- Max Singapore http://savefile.com/projects/236895 xdemechanik --- "RlR" wrote: when I copy and paste the formula I want into adjacent cells, it does not retain the particular cell I want to use. BTW. You don't need SUM, and A1 is the dividend rather than the divisor
