Default under standing if statments

I am trying to create a drop down box and with what ever i select from it put
the price two cells over say backhoe cost is 44.57 hr backhoe trencher blade
will be in the list in a1 and i want it to put the prices in d1 and there
will be diffrent prices for every pice of equipment thanks e

Depending on how you have your pricelist setup, you likely will need one of the
LOOKUP functions. Probably VLOOKUP

VLOOKUP formulas will pull the data to appropriate cells based upon the item in
A1
