Default how do I mail merge data from excel to word as formated?

I have a large excel document. I need the data to merge to word document
exactly as it is in the excel sheet. (I am missing $ signs, ending zeros,
and thousand separaters) I am in a bind and need to complete asap.

There's an article on the Microsoft web site that might help you:

Answer Box: Numbers don't merge right in Word

And if you prefer the old Mail Merge helper, Word MVP Suzanne Barnhill
has instructions he

about half way down the page.
