Default Rank fx - Fill Down?

Hi,

I am using the rank function to rank cells from e2-e42. How do I fill down?
Cell f2 is Rank(e2,e2:e42), but when I fill down, the next cell is
(e3,e3:e42) How do I keep the 2nd e2 constant when I fill down?

2nd question- Can I use the rank function in a worksheet that I have
filtered? Ie, filter out all members of group 1, from a list of 12 groups,
now how due those members rank compared to each other? Understanding that the
row numbers will be skiiped from the unfiltered version? Is this confusing
you yet?

Thanks in advance,
Steve

You need to put $ around your cell references to lock
or "freeze" them. For example:

$E$2:$E$42

Highlight the range in your formula in the formula bar
and press F4.
